The perfect backdrop for modern or nontraditional couples, this venue is definitely unlike your typical Long Island wedding venue. As a Long Island & Hamptons wedding photographer, I see tons of different venues, and The Halyard is definitely one of my top 5. We shot a hybrid of film and digital at this wedding! I also had the opportunity to shoot an engagement session at this gorgeous venue!
Tara and Steven started off their day getting ready at the venue’s hotel. The Soundview Hotel offers a clean, modern backdrop for aesthetic getting ready photos on your wedding day. The added benefit of being on property allow you to have any easier day, with less travel. I always love to work with couples who want to go with the flow, rather than following a rigid timeline, to reduce stress on the wedding day. Tara & Steven truly had an incredible wedding experience, and I was so grateful to be able to capture it!

We utilized the space for portraits of Tara & Steven, prior to the reception beginning also.
I was SO excited to capture Tara & Steven’s wedding on both digital and film. They also had an engagement shoot, which allowed them to feel more comfortable on camera - and we capture that on film too!

The interior design of The Halyard is both modern and vintage. The ballroom area is modernized with wood floors and white walls, with a stunning fireplace and high ceilings. The piano bar and library rooms have a vintage charm to them, and give an old Hollywood feel. For ultimate convenience, the Halyard has an attached hotel, The Soundview, and not only is it a short walk from the venue, but it is absolutely stunning for your getting-ready photography. For couples seeking a unique wedding experience, a wedding at The Halyard is sure to provide that.
One thing I loved about Tara & Steven’s day, is the old hollywood glamour feel that the details had. Every detail was truly so beautiful, from her shimmering gown and veil, to the stunning florals and modern vintage touch that the venue, The Halyard added.
We had a gorgeous sunset this day, and we snuck out for some gorgeous silhouetted portraits, followed by their iconic & gorgeous champagne tower and a cake cutting! Another benefit of hosting your wedding at the Halyard, is their incredible catering team.
The cake was provided by the venue, and it was truly a masterpiece.
