If you are eloping in NYC and wondering how you can spice things up a bit and turn the whole experience into a bit of an adventure, then this blog is most definitely for you! No matter where you choose to have your NYC elopement, the fun doesn’t have to end or begin with saying your vows. You can make your elopement into an adventurous experience. This couple booked a vintage car for their elopement to add a unique touch!

Planning your NYC Elopement

First things first - when do you want your elopement coverage to begin? Do you love the thought of eloping, but don’t wanna miss out on the fun of getting ready photos? I’ve got good news - you don’t have to! You two can choose to get ready together, and have your NYC elopement photographer capture all of the intimate moments! There are tons of stunning Airbnb’s & hotels in NYC that you can stay in for your NYC elopement that will photograph beautifully, and I offer all of my elopement clients location scouting services. I am happy to provide you with some options you could potentially choose that I think will be beautiful for your elopement gallery.

If you are eloping at Central Park, you may want to consider getting ready at 6 Columbus Hotel, Park Central Hotel, or the Carlyle Hotel.

For NYPL, I highly recommend Arlo Midtown!

Next up: Where do you want your NYC elopement ceremony to take place?

I’ve written a couple of blogs about stunning places to say your vows in NYC - but it all comes down to, what feels the most like YOU? You want your elopement to feel personal to you as a couple. You may want to incorporate mutual hobbies (such as eloping at a Skate Park if you like to skate!) or elope at a place that you have beautiful memories at. Thing about places you both love, and what is most important for saying your vows, and then you can decide on a location. You can read the following blogs once your finished with this one - to get an idea of where you might want to have your NYC elopement.

After the Vows: Keeping the Fun Alive

I’ve always said - why should the fun end just because your vows are over?

The good times are just beginning!

Once you’ve gotten your intimate getting ready photos and said your vows in a stunning location - where do you want to celebrate?!

There are so many options for celebrating after a NYC elopement! You can head to your favorite bar, restaurant, or coffee shop for some refreshments, and as your NYC elopement photographer, I can tag along to capture all of these beautiful memories for you. Your first date as a married couple can be fully documented!

Some personal favorite restaurants: Trailer Park Lounge in Chelsea, Boucherie in West Village, Dante NYC in West Village, and Cafe Regular in Brooklyn.

While the fun couple above went to a restaurant & bar, you can even go to your favorite coffee shop, fast food restaurant, or ice cream shop! You can truly do anything you want for your NYC elopement.

Ending the Night with a Beautiful Sunset or Flash Photos

When you are ready to end your night, finding a beautiful location, such as Central Park, Empire Stores Rooftop, or Top of the Rock, for sunset portraits is a must. If you live in NYC and have a rooftop you can utilize at your building, even better! It would be so much more personal and nostalgic to take photos on the rooftop of your own home.

You can document that first beautiful sunset as a married couple, and take it all in together. These are precious memories you will cherish for a lifetime.

If there is not much of a sunset on your elopement day - that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on stunning night time photos. You can opt for fun flash photos to wrap up your NYC elopement gallery in a beautiful way. If you booked a hotel, we can head back and take elevator flash photos, photos in the lobby, or head up to your room for some champagne pics!
