Guide To Disney Weddings - Orlando Documentary Style Wedding Photographer

Your Guide To Disney Weddings - Orlando, Florida Wedding Photographer

If you are a Disney adult like me..then this blog post is for YOU! There’s nothing that beats walking down Main Street for the first Magic Kingdom day of your trip. Grabbing a Starbucks and heading down to get your castle photo - and maybe if you’re lucky you walk in during a parade and you are immediately captivated by the magic! My personal favorite park will always be Magic Kingdom - but I’ve also had the opportunity to explore Disneyland California. Next on my bucket list to visit is Disneyland Paris!

Many people who love Disney dream of having a Disney wedding. I personally would have LOVED to have a Disney wedding.

Instead I opted for a backyard wedding - but of course I had to add a Disney touch to my wedding, and ended up honeymooning in Disney World!

There are SO many incredible places where you can get married in Disney. There is really something special about combining your shared love for Disney, with the most important day of your life.

If you are planning to get married at a Disney Resort, and you are looking for a documentary style photographer, then you are not alone! Disney does tend to showcase a lot of traditional, posed photos - but I want to encourage you that if you LOVE documentary style and candid photos, you should absolutely invest in your dream photographer for your dream Disney wedding.

Documentary style photographers excel at weaving a visual narrative that tells the story of the wedding - from the tender exchanges between the couple to the candid interactions with family and friends. By observing and capturing real emotions and unscripted moments, documentary photographers bring a sense of realism and depth to their work. The resulting images are not only stunning but also serve as timeless reminders of the joy, laughter, and love that transpired on the wedding day.

My personal approach as a Disney wedding photographer is documentary-style & intentional.

I absolutely guide, pose and prompt you through portraits with an editorial touch, but I allow intimate moments to happen naturally and organically, without interference - capturing your wedding day in an honest way. My signature editing style is bold, romantic, and true to color, with consistent luxurious tones. A little bit of grain, and a whole lot of detail.

In this blog post, I want to share with you some of the most beautiful wedding venues that I could find on Disney properties around the world as well as planning tips for your dream wedding.

Walt Disney World - Florida

Sea Breeze Point is a gorgeous ceremony location at Disney’s boardwalk resort - old fashioned boardwalk reminiscent of Coney Island. You can arrive to your wedding in a horse drawn carriage, or a antique car! The gazebo at Sea Breeze Point is the largest gazebo at Walt Disney World, and has an open design - allowing your photographer to capture photos from many angles. Sea Breeze Point can accommodate up to 68 guests, including the couple.

A reception venue at Walt Disney World that I find particularly exciting is the Atlantic Dance Hall! The checkerboard dance floor is stunning for dance floor photos. This space is complete with a multi level balcony, providing incredible photo opportunities. Tents tables can be arranged on the dance floor, or the appointed upstairs dining room. Atlantic Dance hall can accommodate up to 150 guests.

ATLANTIC DANCE HALL

The Boardwalk Resort features three retro ballrooms that can accommodate weddings up to 300 guests, including the Promenade Ballroom, Marvin Gardens Hall, and Saint James Hall. Saint James Hall features its own outdoor courtyard. Marvin Gardens Hall also has its own outdoor area.

Another epic location to get married in Walt Disney World is the Tower of Terror. This ceremony location has touch of old Hollywood glamour - and it is PERFECT for a non-traditional couple! As this location is located inside Hollywood Studios, ceremonies will begin 1.5 hours after park closing. This means your park wedding will take place after dark - and it is SUPER important that you invest in a photographer who is proficient in flash lowlight photography! I personally LOVE flash and shooting in low light. It is one of my favorite parts of the wedding day!

TOWER OF TERROR

Casitas Courtyard at the Coronado Springs Resort is a STUNNING destination for both your ceremony and reception! A huge plus to this location is that there is an indoor ceremony option, in case of inclement weather. You can have your ceremony at a variety of times from 9am-7pm, allowing you the opportunity for gorgeous natural light photos.

Disneyland - California

Next on the list is the Brisa Courtyard at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel. This space can accommodate up to 100 guests for either ceremony reception. Filled with a lush greenery, it is truly a stunning location to get married if you want beautiful nature surrounding you - while still having the Disney experience! Occasionally the monorail will pass by for an iconic Disney moment. This venue is ideal for an intimate ceremony!

The Disney Animation Building at the California Adventure Park can accommodate up to 100 guests. This venue is perfect for the couple who wants the full Disney experience, with continuously changing animation projected on the walls surrounding you. With this package you receive a one night stay at the Disneyland Resort Hotel!

Hawaii - Disney Aulani Resort

For a touch of Disney while being in an absolute paradise, you may choose to get married at the Disney Aulani Resort in Hawaii!

This resort has plenty of stunning locations to host your wedding, but one that stands out to me is the Aulani Beach. This stunning Hawaiian beach can accommodate 50 to 180 guests. You can enjoy the best of both worlds of having a beach wedding, while still having the Disney experience. One thing to note is that this location is only available for dinner receptions, Disney characters cannot make an appearance, and the reception must end by 10pm.

The Rainbow Reef Patio at Disney Aulani Resort is another stunning space where you can have your wedding reception. This space can accommodate 20-50 guests, and is available from 6pm-10pm. You can have a candlelit reception under GORGEOUS twinkling lights.

Disneyland Paris

Did you know you can actually have a destination wedding at Disneyland Paris? While you can only have a symbolic ceremony in Disneyland, you can always make things legal back home! You can have your wedding ceremony and reception at an iconic Disneyland hotel, such as the Newport Bay Club, or the Art of Marvel Hotel! A huge added bonus is that Paris is an incredible honeymoon destination for you the enjoy!

Wherever you choose to have your Disney wedding - I truly hope that you have a magical experience. If you enjoyed the photos in this blog as well as my planning tips, I would love to hear from you! You can view more of my work and contact me.
