As a New York wedding photographer, there are a few staple wedding detail items I recommend setting aside for your flat lay photos! Photographing these details that you so carefully picked out and invested in for your New York wedding can add such a beautiful touch to your wedding album. The best thing to do is gather all of the items that apply to you & set them aside in a box labeled “wedding details” to hand to your photographer!

For The Brides
Invitations & rings - these are the two TOP staple items you should include for your wedding photographer in your details! These two are so important for storytelling in your gallery.
Next - shoes, especially if you have a statement shoe! And other accesories that may apply. For the flat lay pictured above, the bride had beautiful sleeves!
Next - perfume & your garter! If you have a sentimental or beautiful perfume bottle, it is perfect to add in to your photos. Not everyone has a garter, but if you do, set it aside for your New York wedding photographer!
Another great thing to include is your purse/handbag if you have one special for the wedding day!
Greenery, flowers, and foliage are always a good addition to add some depth and detail. For this New York wedding, I literally went outside and picked leaves, ferns and dried florals from the ground and bushes.
For The Grooms
Grooms don’t have to miss out on the detail photos! Some things to set aside for them are cologne, watches, ties, shoes, boutonierre, rings, cufflinks, and an invitation! Maybe even a beer!
BONUS TIP: POLAROIDS!
Including polaroids of you two on a date night, at your engagement shoot, or your pets can add such a cute nostalgic vibe to your detail photos!
