Coffee Shop Engagement Shoot Locations on Long Island
If you are engaged and a fellow coffee lover, you should most definitely consider taking your engagement photos in a Long Island coffee shop. Coffee shops give off the coziest vibes and add a bit of personality to the session. They allow you to have an activity to do together which loosens you up for photos! My approach is to shoot you and your spouse on an actual coffee date and I'm just documenting it. Very candid and romantic, with minimal posing - more affectionate prompts. With so many great coffee shops on Long Island, it can be difficult to decide which one is the best for your engagement session, and keeping in mind the rules for which ones you are allowed to shoot in. As a Long Island engagement photographer, I've seen my fair share of coffee shops.

Jack Jack’s - Babylon
Located in the charming village of Babylon, New York, Jack Jack's is a Long Island coffee shop that has been a staple in the community for decades. The quaint, family-owned cafe is close to the scenic banks of the Carlls River and is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to relax and chat with friends or take a break from your busy day, Jack Jack's is an ideal spot for sipping your favorite espresso.
The interior of Jack Jack's features cozy seating areas and beautiful plants that add to the cozy vibes. If you're feeling adventurous, we can head down the streets of Babylon and use the many stunning locations there are that are perfect for your Long Island engagement session.
Grindstone - Sag Harbor
Grindstone is a Long Island coffee shop located in the charming village of Sag Harbor, New York. Situated in a quaint and picturesque setting, this popular spot is located right next to Sag Harbor Books. Founded in 2006, Grindstone has become a favorite among locals for its delicious coffee and teas, breakfast and lunch menus, and selection of baked goods.
For the self-proclaimed anti brides, Grindstone's alternative aesthetic makes it a perfect engagement shoot location. Set next door to Sag Harbor books, we can start by grabbing coffee and then browse through the bookstore. There are also hotels, art galleries and theatres - endless options for your session! We can end the night down by the water for some sunset photos, or with flash photos at a hotel or bar.
Grindstone is the ideal spot for couples who want to do a little something unique and non-traditional for their Long Island engagement session.
Local’s Cafe - Port Jefferson
Another stunning location is Local's Cafe in Port Jefferson Village, New York. Located on Main Street in the heart of this quaint village, Local's Cafe is a beautiful backdrop for your session. It has a bit of a vintage charm as well as greenery, making it a great spot for photos.
Port Jefferson has a long history dating back to 1683 when it was settled by Thomas Roe and his family. Today, Port Jefferson is an great mix of historic architecture and modern shops and establishments. Quant coffee shops, restaurants, antique stores and galleries line the streets of Port Jefferson Village. It's the perfect place to explore with your spuse even after your Long Island engagement photos!
