For Giana & Eli’s elopement, we began the day getting ready at the Carlyle Hotel.

Located inside the Carlyle, is also Bemelman's Bar! Bemelman’s is timeless New York City establishment known for its classic cocktails and elegant ambiance. After we left the Carlyle Hotel, we headed to Central Park for the couples first look and vows!

Central Park

Central Park in NYC offers a serene oasis in the bustling city landscape. The park's vast green spaces, winding paths, and tranquil bodies of water provide a welcome escape for locals and tourists alike. Towering trees offer shade on hot summer days, while vibrant floral displays add bursts of color throughout the seasons. The iconic Central Park bridges and sculptures dotting the landscape add to the park's charm and character. Whether taking a leisurely stroll, enjoying a picnic, or simply people-watching, Central Park's diverse scenery beckons visitors to unwind and appreciate the beauty of nature in the heart of the city.

Our next stop was City Hall to make it official! If you’re interested in seeing more work at City Hall, you can view this gallery!

After they eloped, Giana & Eli made stops at the local courthouse for timeless portraits & Manhatta for some fun flash photos & drinks.

We ended the evening back at the Carlyle for some photos together in their Central Park Suite, with the most incredible view!

Personalizing Your Elopement Experience

When it comes to planning your NYC elopement, personalization is key. It's your special day, and you deserve to have an experience that reflects your unique love story. My first recommendation is to choose a meaningful location for your ceremony. Whether it's a spot that holds sentimental value for you and your partner, or a location that embodies your shared interests, selecting a meaningful venue will add an extra layer of significance to your elopement. From hidden gem parks to rooftop terraces with stunning city views, New York City offers a diverse range of locations that can be tailored to suit your preferences. Having a courthouse wedding can offer several benefits for couples looking to simplify the wedding process. One significant advantage is cost savings, as courthouse ceremonies typically have lower fees compared to traditional weddings. Additionally, courthouse weddings are often more convenient to plan and execute, requiring minimal preparation and allowing for a quick turnaround. The intimate atmosphere of a courthouse ceremony can also appeal to couples seeking a private and low-key exchange of vows. Lastly, choosing a courthouse wedding can alleviate stress associated with elaborate wedding arrangements, enabling couples to focus more on the commitment they are making to each other.

Documentary Style & Film Photography

When selecting a documentary style elopement photographer, consider their portfolio to ensure their storytelling approach resonates with you. Look for photographers who excel at capturing candid moments and emotions without much posing or staging. Pay attention to their use of lighting, composition, and editing style to see if it aligns with your vision. Additionally, inquire about their experience shooting elopements in various locations and conditions, as adapting to different settings is crucial for this style. Discuss your expectations openly to ensure both parties are on the same page regarding delivery, timeline, and any specific requests. Choose a photographer whose work reflects the authentic and intimate representation you desire for your elopement day. Additionally, having your wedding captured on film offers a timeless and authentic way to preserve the memories of your special day. Film photography has a unique quality that digital cannot replicate, adding a dreamy and nostalgic feel to your images. The process of shooting with film also encourages a slower and more intentional approach, resulting in carefully composed and thoughtfully captured moments. The dynamic range and color depth of film create stunning, richly detailed photographs that can be cherished for generations to come.
